Synopsis

The Futon Critic

Unikitty acquires a super-powered video game controller from Dr. Fox. To her surprise, it actually controls other people, and the castle goes into lockdown like a real-world video game![3]

Plot

Everyone except Dr. Fox is playing a video game. The others offer her a controller to join in, but she is working on a lab security bug that treats nearly everyone as an intruder. As Unikitty is getting frustrated in the game, Puppycorn tells her to get in "The Zone," where the mind goes totally blank and only the game is thought about. She almost immediately gets a game over in the final boss, sending her into a rage. The rage triggers the flawed security system and deploys a security robot. It grabs hold of Dr. Fox even though she tries yelling at it there aren't any intruders. It fires a beam at the console and fries it, but electrocutes Puppycorn, Hawkodile, and Richard as it walks into the distance with Dr. Fox.

Unikitty lands on the ground only to discover that the three have become 16-bit and there are unable to move. She hits a button on the controller, and the three jump. Unikitty realizes it's like a real life video game. She switches to Hawkodile and uses an attack, but it knocks Puppycorn and Richard off of the groung and into a pit. They, however, respawn. They go head to save Dr. Fox.

The security system uses many lasers, which Dr. Fox is at the end of. She switches to Puppycorn, but keeps trying to run through the lasers to no avail. Puppycorn says to get in "The Zone" again. She doesn't understand and tries button mashing one more time, which does work, but then another wall of lasers appear. This infuriates her and leads to the others acting uncontrollably. Puppycorn smashes a crate, revealing a wrench. She has the others smash stuff, and they get a plethora of items. One item is the Security System Manual, which Richards reads and finds the code to disable the system. (Up, down, left, right) They advance forward.

They then have to deal with a much more difficult stage with far more obstacles. Unikitty controls Hawkodile. Puppycorn keeps trying to convince her to get in "The Zone," but numerous fails keep enraging her. Richard, who was used as a stepstool for Hawkodile, is out of lives, while Hawkodile and Puppycorn only have one left.
